Testimonials

  • Scott did a fabulous job and captured exactly what I was looking for.  … I made the decision to make the move to WordPress.org and immediately sent Scott an email based on my prior great experience with his services. Scott not only met my expectations on this transition, he vastly exceeded them and he continues to do that to this day.

  • I have had nothing but positive comments on the colors and design of my logo and website. People find it warm, friendly, and very professional. This is exactly the feeling I was after when I tried to create a website on my own and was disappointed by the results. Thank you so much for the rebranding of Pete’s PC & Apple Repair which has brought me many new customers.

I received an email today that had a communications tip in it, the message quoted an email that was sent as a shipping confirmation.

The shipping confirmation was sent by Better World Books ( @bwbooksFacebook ) and goes something like this …

Hello Ricky Bobby,

(Your book(s) asked to write you a personal note – it seemed unusual, but who are we to say no?)

Holy canasta! It’s me… it’s me! I can’t believe it is actually me! You could have picked any of over 2 million books but you picked me! I’ve got to get packed! How is the weather where you live? Will I need a dust jacket? I can’t believe I’m leaving Mishawaka, Indiana already – the friendly people, the Hummer plant, the Linebacker Lounge – so many memories. I don’t have much time to say goodbye to everyone, but it’s time to see the world!

I can’t wait to meet you! You sound like such a well read person. Although, I have to say, it sure has taken you a while! I don’t mean to sound ungrateful, but how would you like to spend five months sandwiched between Jane Eyre (drama queen) and Fundamentals of Thermodynamics (pyromaniac)? At least Jane was an upgrade from that stupid book on brewing beer. How many times did the ol’ brewmaster have one too many and topple off our shelf at 2am?

I know the trip to meet you will be long and fraught with peril, but after the close calls I’ve had, I’m ready for anything (besides, some of my best friends are suspense novels). Just five months ago, I thought I was a goner. My owner was moving and couldn’t take me with her. I was sure I was landfill bait until I ended up in a Better World Books book drive bin. Thanks to your socially conscious book shopping, I’ve found a new home. Even better, your book buying dollars are helping kids read from Brazil to Botswana.

But hey, enough about me, I’ve been asked to brief you on a few things:

[this is where they place all the shipping details]

Eagerly awaiting our meeting,

How’s that for a confirmation email from an order placed online.

Do you see the pure beauty in this approach? This email is most likely going to get passed along, forwarded to friends and family because it’s funny, and unexpected. In fact the person who sent it to me stated their aunt had passed it along to 27 of her friends and family, but she wasn’t the originator of the viral forwarding. It had been through at lest 5 forward cycles.

How many people do you think went to the website to check out the bookstore, and I wonder how many people ended up purchasing a book so they too could get their own message from the book they ordered.

Another way this has been viral is from people like me who have previously blogged about this very email. Just do a search at Google for the sentence starting with “Holy Canasta … ” and you will see how many other’s have been talking about this unique confirmation email.

What do you think would happen if this email message was personalized even further? Changing it up a bit so it’s not the exact same message that goes out to every order shipped. Such as … the other books on the shelf, or some other funny story from the type of book ordered.

I’m sure you can see now, how this approach can help spread the word about your own business. Can you think of a creative way to put this type of message to play?

Enjoy … Scott

Just wanted to post a quick entry to the blog to show off our new business cards.

Decided to go with  Uprinting.com as I have had great experience with them in the past and I believe their pricing is among the best on the web. One of the things I also like about Uprinting is their proofing process. Our cards have text on the back side that is purposely positioned to print past the bleed (text is actually cut off a bit)

After submitting the design, I was sent a proof to look over and approve. The proof came with a warning about the text on the back being outside the safe area and will likely be cut off. As this was deliberate in the design I went ahead and approved the proof.

We should get the cards in a week or so – not sure because of the holiday Monday, but I will post pics and an overall review of the whole process.

Enjoy … Scott

It’s finally here!

For many years now I have wanted to launch my own design company. The time has come, and I am truly excited.

Don’t let the fact that this is a new site scare you away. If you’re considering doing business with us, I am confident you’ll find our style very refreshing in today’s market.

I am always amazed at how many times I see or read about a company that only sees their customers as another notch on their portfolio, or another entry into their monthly recurring account. At ProckStar Creative, we put a much higher value on our customers.

Every design job is treated as if it were for our own projects. If we can’t say we absolutely love it, how can we expect you to?

Please add a comment below and let us know you stopped in.

Enjoy … Scott
